No description available

Wesleyan, the specialist financial services mutual, has celebrated International Women’s Day by announcing a five-year membership commitment to WISE

9 March 2018

Wesleyan will work with WISE to ensure it retains a focus on the recruitment, retention and development of women.

Caroline Hill, Wesleyan’s Director of HR & Corporate Services: “We want to have a truly diverse workforce as we believe it will make us a stronger business and more reflective of the customers we serve. We are committed to progressing more women into senior positions and I’m looking forward to working with WISE to develop robust plans to achieve this.”

Helen Wollaston, Chief Executive of WISE said: “We are extremely pleased to be working with Wesleyan as addressing gender balance in all industries is vital. There are a wealth of opportunities for women to enjoy a great career in financial services where their contribution will make a real difference.

“By announcing their commitment to a five-year membership with WISE on International Women’s Day, Wesleyan are making a powerful statement to their sector that we wholeheartedly endorse.”

One of the aims of the partnership will be to excite the next generation about careers in maths, science and technology by providing access to inspirational role models such as Dr Bhavagaya Bakshi, a member of Wesleyan’s Junior Advisory Board and winner of the WISE Technology & Engineering in Health Award 2017. Bhavagaya introduced the two organisations as they have a good match of values and objectives.
