Who are Autodesk?

Autodesk makes software for people who make things. What projects / schemes / initiatives to support women's recruitment, retention and progression in STEM are Autodesk involved in?

A diverse and representative workforce is essential to our business goals. We run a number of groups and initiatives in order to support and raise the profile of women in Autodesk, and encourage more young women to explore careers in STEM:

  • Autodesk Women in Leadership is employee resource group whose vision is to make Autodesk the recognised workplace for women. AWiL's flagship program is group mentorship, which aims to support women at every level. This year’s Birmingham Global Month of Impact event was a donation drive to support Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid charity, sponsored by the AWiL team.
  • The Digital Manufacturing Group (DMG) piloted a Strategic Diversity Recruitment initiative. Its success means that DMG and the broader Product Development Group have implemented a Strategic Diversity Recruitment policy. Hiring managers must have at least 1 gender diverse candidate reach the interview stage. The Territory Sales organisation has also implemented a rule where at least one of the final three candidates should be female
  • A “Girls in Tech” initiative is in development at the Birmingham office (this will be loosely modelled after the hugely successful Girls Who Code activities in a couple of our USA offices)
  • We have several registered STEM Ambassadors in the Birmingham office
  • An Emerging Leaders program identifying individuals in the organization from diverse groups who have the ability, and aspiration to succeed in more senior positions, that provides them with additional assistance in their professional development and expanding their network to prepare them for leadership roles.
  • An Annual Talent Review process helps identify key female talent that results targeted development and retention plans for them accompanied by a Pay for Performance compensation philosophy that rewards according to contribution, not gender
