Dr Anne Adams, Associate Director for Academic Professional Development at the Open University, received her PhD from UCL (University College London) in psychology and computing and has co-ordinated large-scale International research projects in technology enhanced learning €2.1M EU Juxtalearn project (http://juxtalearn.eu), professional development ‘centre for policing research and learning’ (http://centre-for-policing.open.ac.uk/) and knowledge exchange ‘RCUK Catalyst project’.

She has over 100 publications (H-Index 20) with an expertise in Educational Technology, Human Computer Interaction, work-based collaboration and secure systems development. Of particular importance to this work will be extensive prior experience in industrial partnerships (e.g. Microsoft, Cannon, British Telecoms, College of Policing, National Health Service and Building Research Establishment as well as SMEs high Skillz and Catchermedia) in knowledge exchange and cross disciplinary research (e.g. work with Science, Computing, Psychology, Business Studies, Education, Healthcare and Engineering).

Dr. Adams has a varied experience of principle investigator and project management roles across various disciplines (funded by the UK research councils, EU, Home Office, HEFCE, industrial partners and British National Health Service) and has particular expertise in impact and equitable engagement in research and development. Dr Adams prior training as a professional actor (prior Equity member) and small entertainment business manager will be of particular use for understanding communication and enterprise management.
