The photos above show the very first WISE programme run in 1979 at Essex University. They were brought to our attention by WISE members Thales and show the 40 sixth-form girls who attended the programme which was organised jointly by GEC and the Engineering Industry Training Board, as a pilot for a bigger programme of events run in 1980.
