Prishita Maheshwari-Aplin, Chetham's School of Music

In addition to her commitment as an elite violinist in a specialist music school, Prishita has developed a keen active interest in medical science and genetics. She has created a science blog called ‘Darwin’s Beard’, making current research accessible for a young audience, and is an Editor for the Young Scientist Journal.

Her work placement research project in the University of Manchester resulted in a novel evolutionary theory being submitted as a peer-reviewed journal paper. She presented the findings to spark an interest in science amongst younger students.
