Held at Derby’s spectacular Roundhouse, the Graduate Engineer & Science Show was an amazing opportunity for students and recent graduates to explore potential career paths, talk to experts in STEM sector businesses and perfect their interview and application techniques in the Employability Zone’s workshops.

Campaigning to inspire and motivate girls into STEM careers, WISE worked with the organisers to increase the number of female graduates who attend the show. This event connected some of the world’s largest and most successful STEM sector businesses with the talented engineers of the future, and young women are a vital part of making that future successful.

Workshops: Meet female role models in engineering and science

WISE collaborated with the Graduate Engineering & Science Show to motivate girls to attend the event and pursue a career in the STEM sector. There were opportunities to speak to female role models, meet prospective employers who have chosen careers in these sectors, find out what they actually do, why they love their jobs and what amazing opportunities careers in STEM can lead to.

WISE ran a series of 50 minute workshops:

• 'Create your Future' interactive workshops for girls aged 14-18
• 'Create your Future' panel discussions for female undergraduates and graduates
