About us

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) is the main UK Government agency for funding research and training in Engineering and the Physical Sciences, investing approximately £850 million a year.

About the role

As an EPSRC Portfolio Support Manager, you will work with the Engineering and Physical Sciences research community to achieve EPSRC’s aim to put the UK at the forefront of International Research.

You will be responsible for supporting some of EPSRC’s many portfolios, from mathematics to materials science, from information technology to energy, from university relationships to research infrastructure.

About you

  • You must be educated to at least A level to include a Science or Mathematicals subject of equivalent.
  • You will have good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as good organisation and planning skills are essential.
  • You will be able to work collaboratively and professionally with a range of colleagues and with external organisations and partners at all levels.
  • It would be beneficial if you are educated to a degree level with an interest in engineering and physical sciences.
  • Experience of working with the research academic community and a basic understanding of the Research Council systems is preferred, but not essential.
  • Having the aptitude to lean and work with scientific concepts and terminology would be beneficial.
